Apple Pie
Pie Crust:
Mix with fork until crumbly:
3 cups flour
1 cup shortening
2 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Then slowly add ice water with lemon, cold Sprite or cold 7-Up. Be careful not to add too much liquid or your crust will be HARD! Mix lightly and do NOT handle crust too much. You want a nice flaky crust. Roll out bottom and place in pie tin.
Apple Filling:
Slice Roman Beauty, Jonathan or any good apple into the unbaked crust. Sprinkle 1 cup sugar over the apples. Add dots of butter and sprinkle with cinnamon or buy a can of apple filling from the store and put into unbaked crust.
Roll out another crust for the top. Place over apple mixture. Make a pretty edge by putting your thumb and finger around the edge. Sprinkle top crust with a little sugar and bake at 400° for about 30 to 40 minutes (until golden brown).
