Baker’s One Bowl Brownies

4 squares unsweetened chocolate
¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) margarine or butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup nuts (optional)

Microwave the chocolate and margarine on high for 2 minutes. Stir until the chocolate is melted. Stir sugar into the melted chocolate. Stir in the eggs and vanilla until well mixed. Stir in the flour. Stir in the nuts. Spread in a greased 13x9 inch pan. Bake at 350º for 36 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out almost clean (DO NOT OVERBAKE). Cool in pan. Cut into squares. Makes 24 brownies.
